East Shilvinghampton Farm…
A conventional, working farm in the heart of the Dorset countryside with over 70 years of experience!
Situated in a quaint little hamlet halfway along a valley stretching from Portesham to Upwey, East Shilvinghampton enjoys acres of grassy grazing meadows and beautiful panoramic views for as far as the eye can see. After all, it is surrounded by outstanding Jurassic Coast beauty, being only 10 minutes from Chesil Beach and 15 minutes from the sands of Weymouth Beach!
Their Limousin cows which are bred and fed on the farm make up the established Shilvington herd, particularly known for their soft nature, gorgeous golden red colouring and of course not forgetting their lean meat. Traditionally farmed and grass fed, they produce delicious, good quality beef, which is succulent in taste and delicious in texture.
This means that East Shilvinghampton are trusted beef suppliers to many local businesses, including Ducks Farm Shop and The Kings Arms in Portesham. It really does take the term “fresh meat” to a whole new level… but when it is quite literally just a stones throw away (2 miles to be exact), why want to source it from anywhere else?!
There are lots of meaty options on offer all year round as Ducks Farm Shop & Cafe stock the shelves with all kinds of fresh beef steaks and joints from Sirloin, Rump, Top Rump and Braising to Ribeye, Beef Silverside, Beef Brisket and Topside.
Head further on up the village to The Kings Arms gastro country pub and take your pick from the juicy specials menu of more succulent East Shilvinghampton Steak, alternating from Rump to Sirloin to Fillet, all served with chips, roasted tomatoes, peppercorn sauce & a mixed leaf salad. Otherwise, savour the occasional African Beef Curry or Beef Stir Fry options or their popular main menu trademark dish of Kings Arms Homemade Beef Burger. It’s a must-try! – accompanied with tomato relish, lettuce & red onion in a brioche bun with chips & mixed leaf salad.
Last but by no means least, their hearty Roast Beef served every Sunday weekly with confit roast potatoes, honey glazed parsnips, seasonal vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and topped off with red wine gravy.
Udderly moo-licious…
